In an easy blend of entertainment and education, Festival Woodwinds demonstrates their virtuosity on flutes, clarinets, oboe, English horn, bassoon, saxophones and more. The musicians talk about the idiosyncrasies, history and development of more than 20 instruments, as they play them individually, in families and mixed combinations. Students hear many musical styles - the sparkle of folk dance, the appeal of pop music and the intricacies of a fugue.

Students might have a mini lesson on the saxophone, join in a ?name that instrument? contest, or provide the rhythm for a parade. Student woodwind players may also sit in with the Festival Woodwinds musicians. With enthusiasm and expertise, the musicians create an atmosphere of learning while having fun.
