The joy, energy and sensitivity of Jazz are demonstrated by a talented quintet of artists on bass, piano, reeds, drums and voice. The program demonstrates the ways in which the music from Africa, the Americas and Europe have intermingled to produce America?s great musical contribution to the world.

Jazz for Black History Month

A look at African Americans who were a major part of the origins of Jazz. From it?s beginnings in New Orleans, to Louis Armstrong, Duke Ellington and Charlie Parker, to the modern jazz of Miles Davis, the history of this unique American art form is explained and demonstrated by a group of professional jazz musicians.
